Robinsons Starmills is one of several Filipino shopping centres to acquire a roof-mounted PV system as part of an internal company programme promoting the use of renewable energy. With an output of almost 2.9 MWp, it is one of the largest PV systems in the world to be installed on the roof of a shopping centre.
For the Robinsons Land Corporation, one of the most well-known real estate companies in the Philippines, the initiative is all about spreading awareness of green energy. At certain times of the day, up to 95% of the shopping centre’s energy requirements can be covered using this system. In addition, surplus energy produced on a daily basis will be supplied to Filipino energy providers to counter the power shortage in the provinces.
As a Fronius Service Partner Plus, Solenergy Systems Inc. has been commissioned to install this and other systems for Robinsons. “Fronius is always on hand to provide our installers with invaluable support,” says Tom Peebles, Managing Director of Solenergy. “Having installed Fronius Symo devices as part of previous projects, our installers already have a good idea of how easy Fronius SnapINverters are to work with in terms of planning and installation.”
