Surplus energy will be supplied to regional energy providers to improve the poor grid infrastructure in the Philippines. |
Robinsons Land Corporation, one of the Philippines’ leading real estate companies, is involved in the development and operation of shopping centres and hotels, office buildings, residential condominiums and socialised housing projects. The company is now embarking on a programme that will integrate renewable energy into its projects, with PV systems set to be installed on the roofs of several shopping centres across the country.
The company is also planning to supply local energy providers with any surplus electricity to take the pressure off these providers and counter the power shortage in the Filipino provinces.
Robinsons Place Iloilo was the second shopping centre to have a PV system installed on its roof. This is currently the largest grid-connected system in the city. Additional sites are in the pipeline for 2016. Installation company Solenergy Systems Inc. opted for Fronius inverters for several reasons: “Fronius provides our installers with excellent support and training. As a Fronius Service Partner Plus, our company has a significant edge over the competition in terms of technical and after-sales support,” explains Tom Peebles, Managing Director of Solenergy Systems.
