SCS, founded in 1841, is a timber wholesaler with six branches in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Sustainable building materials were used in the construction of the new company headquarters in Gundremmingen. SCS uses collected rainwater as process water, relies on efficient logistics processes and supplies its electric vehicles and forklifts with solar energy from its own roof.
SCS operates 11 electric industrial trucks in Gundremmingen. Following an analysis, Fronius developed a customized solution with 16 Selectiva 4.0 chargers, which supply the industrial truck fleet with energy from the PV system and are perfectly matched to the application scenario. The chargers offer intelligent functions and a particularly gentle, energy-efficient charging process for lead-acid batteries. They are versatile and can charge different battery types, which simplifies charging processes and saves costs.
» "Sustainability is very important to us. We attach great importance to leaving a positive ecological footprint throughout the Group. That's why we regularly put our processes and infrastructure facilities to the test." «
Karl Schmiederer, Managing Partner at SCS
Fronius charging technology connects the chargers with the "Charge & Connect" software, which enables transparent monitoring of energy consumption. Together with over 5000 solar modules, Fronius inverters contribute to energy self-sufficiency. The PV Connect function enables targeted use of PV energy, allowing battery charging to be planned in advance and self-consumption to be maximized.
The following improvements have been achieved by the new Fronius charging solution at SCS Scheiffele-Schmiederer KG:
This means that nothing stands in the way of efficient operation without manual checks, enabling ongoing cost savings and energy optimization.
