30/11/2018Neff GmbH is known for its high-quality built-in appliances. Based in Bretten in northern Baden-Württemberg, the subsidiary company of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH produces built-in stoves, ovens and extractor fans. The company relies on a large fleet of electric forklift trucks for its seamless intralogistics processes.
In order to avoid incomplete charging cycles and insufficient idle periods for the batteries – both of which significantly impair service life – the company decided to introduce a comprehensive charging management concept. Neff replaced its standard chargers with Selectiva battery charging systems. The Fronius technology is convincing: for a start, it takes into account the relevant voltage and capacity when charging the battery. What is more, the charging quality is higher and energy consumption lower that with comparable technologies.
In order to further improve the utilisation of the battery pool, Fronius has installed the information and management system Cool Battery Guide Easy on some of the charging stations. This system uses a blue LED strip to clearly show which battery has been fully charged for the longest and is, as such, the coolest.
