From 31st May to 2nd June, Fronius will be exhibiting its wide range of solutions for intelligent and efficient energy generation at Intersolar 2017 in Munich, the world’s leading specialist trade fair for the solar industry. Visitors can learn about different solutions for module electronics, the Fronius Solar.configurator PV system tool and much more at our trade fair stand in Hall B2 (Stand 310). The focus will be on the integration of the energy, heat and mobility sectors. The solar energy specialist, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will also be presenting the Fronius Ohmpilot consumption regulator, a device that enables continuous regulation of heat sources, as well as innovative storage technology, allowing users to become more independent from the mains supply.
Every photovoltaic system must be individually adapted to suit the roof in question – be it for roofs with differing orientations or temporary shading. Fronius has the perfect solution in its product range to allow the operator to maximise their yield. For example, on its trade fair stand, Fronius will offer exciting insights into its cooperation with Maxim Integrated. Together with the American manufacturer of integrated circuits, the company is working on economically and technologically sustainable solutions for module electronics. These include the chip-based cell-string optimizers – integrated DC/DC converters that are embedded into the solar module and perform Maximum Power Point Tracking. The Maximum Power Point (MPP) is the place on the solar module that delivers the highest output. The cell-string optimizers compensate for output losses, for example due to pollution or shading. This allows photovoltaic panels to achieve a higher energy yield. The technology can be simply and cost-effectively integrated during the production of the module. The time-consuming installation of retrofit boxes and additional components is no longer necessary and users save significantly on costs compared to conventional solutions.
Fronius inverters also provide greater flexibility and are equipped with the intelligent SnapINverter mounting system, SuperFlex Design and the innovative Dynamic Peak Manager Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm. The latter dynamically adapts its behaviour when searching for the optimal operating point. The SuperFlex Design ensures maximum flexibility in system design, while the SnapINverter mounting system makes installation and maintenance of the inverter as simple as possible.
Fronius Solar.configurator 4.0: retrieve current data at any time
With the Solar.configurator, Fronius presents trade fair visitors with an online tool, which allows them to exactly dimension their PV systems. The design tool for systems with or without a storage unit provides operators with the current solar module and inverter data quickly, simply and at any time – without a time-consuming manual update. Users benefit from a standardised display and the clear report summarises all design-relevant data concisely on one page.
Using excess power intelligently “To successfully implement our vision of 24 hours of sun, we must use synergies,” explains Martin Hackl, head of the Solar Energy Division. There is enormous potential for the efficient use of renewable energy sources in combining electricity, heat and mobility. The company will also be presenting a new technology for heating water at Intersolar: the Fronius Ohmpilot. This will allow private operators of photovoltaic systems to significantly improve their self-consumption and save on costs. The intelligent energy management solution uses excess energy to supply consumers such as heating elements, infrared heaters or other heat sources without motors with the currently available excess and to organise the operation of heat sources, for example heat pumps. This is made possible by the continuously adjustable regulation from almost zero to nine kilowatts.
Up to 100 percent autonomous
Operators of photovoltaic systems can achieve more independence from the public grid with the Fronius Energy Package. This consists of inverter, battery and the bi-directional Fronius Smart Meter, which clearly displays energy usage in Fronius Solar.Web. To remain autonomous during consumption peaks or in winter when there are very few solar hours, users can add an ÖkoFEN pellet stove to the Fronius package. With its integrated Stirling generator, this provides the additional energy required. In this way, private operators have the option of supplying their household almost exclusively with self-generated solar and pellet power.
