Whether for private use or for company e-cars, these innovative charging solutions adapt optimally to the user’s needs and power consumption. Excess solar power from one’s own photovoltaic system is used particularly efficiently – and thus cost-effectively – to maximize self-consumption. The new Fronius Wattpilot Flex combines state-of-the-art technology with elegant design and has already been awarded the prestigious German Design Award for this.
For the future-driven
With its latest EV charging box, made in Austria, Fronius expands its e-mobility portfolio, focusing on a smart combination of proven and brand-new features. From installation to monitoring, user-friendliness is key.
"Our e-charging box can be seamlessly integrated into existing home or company networks—whether via WLAN or LAN," explains Markus Brandstötter, Product Manager at Fronius. "Additionally, we have greatly simplified the installation process. Installers now have the flexibility to route cables from below, above, or behind. A type 2 charging cable is permanently integrated, eliminating the need for a separate cable. For even greater flexibility, we offer an optional mounting column as an accessory."
Thanks to RFID technology, user can be created and managed with ease—anytime, anywhere, via the app, or conveniently controlled directly on the device.
Charging precision
The Fronius Wattpilot Flex is available in two versions: Home and Pro. The Pro version is ideal for company cars, as it features an integrated MID-compliant electricity meter that accurately records kilowatt-hours charged—providing a reliable basis for transparent billing with employers.
When paired with a complete Fronius package, including the Wattpilot Flex Pro and Fronius EMIL* e-mobility software, fleet management for businesses, apartment buildings, and hotels becomes even more cost-effective. This intelligent cloud solution ensures each company fleet is charged fully, individually, and in the most economical way.
Maximum sun
The innovative Wallbox from Fronius intelligently utilizes solar energy, enabling charging even with minimal PV surplus by dynamically adjusting the charging process to the available solar power. This ensures that not a single ray of sunlight remains unused, and any surplus PV yield is efficiently directed to the electric vehicle.
In combination with a variable electricity tariff, intelligent charging modes allow for the efficient use of both self-generated solar power and low-cost electricity from the grid. In Eco Mode, solar power is prioritized, while Next Trip Mode ensures that exactly the right amount of energy is charged at a specific time for your next journey at the lowest possible cost.
Stylish and award-winning
Modern design and high-quality craftsmanship make the Fronius Wattpilot Flex a stylish addition to any home or company. The wallbox blends functionality and elegance with sophistication: rough and smooth surfaces create a dynamic aesthetic. A discreet charge indicator shows the amount of energy charged, while the LED ring displays current energy flows in color, allowing users to instantly see whether their electric vehicle is being charged with solar power, battery power, or grid power.
Even before its official market launch, the Wattpilot Flex has already won the renowned German Design Award 2025 for its outstanding product design. “We are extremely proud of this award, which recognizes the success of our product design. It reaffirms our commitment to developing high-quality and aesthetically pleasing products,” says Brandstötter. For design enthusiasts, the latest wallbox from Fronius is available in a limited first edition with a special logo variant.
