7. THE FRONIUS OHMPILOT CAN BE COMBINED PERFECTLY WITH A GAS, OIL OR PELLET HEATING SYSTEM
The Fronius Ohmpilot can be combined with a modern heat pump and it is also the perfect addition to existing gas, oil and pellet heating systems.
For example:
Imagine that a pellet heating system has been used exclusively to heat water up until now. If there is enough PV energy, the Ohmpilot ensures that water is heated using solar power. If there is insufficient PV surplus available, the Ohmpilot will activate the heating system.
It is possible to achieve the following advantages once the Fronius Ohmpilot has been installed:
- Saving of pellets, oil gas and so on
- Increases self-sufficiency in hot water production
- Increases PV self-consumption
- Saves operating hours and a lot of on/off cycles, therefore protects the existing heating system hugely and increases the service life.
8. THE FRONIUS OHMPILOT OFFERS FLEXIBILITY WHEN IT COMES TO MAINTAINING A MINIMUM TEMPERATURE
The primary heating system (pellet, wood chips, oil, gas) can be switched off completely during the sunny season.
If there is insufficient PV-surplus available and the temperature drops, the primary heating system starts to work so that the user specified minimum temperature is not undershot.
9. THE FRONIUS OHMPILOT ENABLES THE TEMPERATURE TO BE LIMITED
Assuming that the heating element does not have an adjustable thermostat, the Fronius Ohmpilot can be used to limit the temperature. This feature comes in handy, for example, when the Ohmpilot is being used to heat a room in which the temperature is not measured directly by the heating system.
10. FRONIUS OHMPILOT CAN BE USED TO CONTROL INFRARED HEATING, TOWEL RAILS AND ELECTRIC HEATING SYSTEMS
The Ohmpilot is primarily used to control hot water heating elements. However, it can also be used to generate heat – to bring your hand towels to a pleasant temperature on a towel rail, for example. There is also the option of combining the Ohmpilot with an electric or infrared heating system. Infrared panels being used as heating elements are found more and more often, particularly in passive houses. You will boost your self-consumption rate, which will have a positive impact on their overall energy costs.
