Microgrid 100% self-consumption |
In Kenya, a constant power supply is not something that can be taken for granted. The public grid is unstable and in a poor condition. The best way to ensure a constant supply of electricity is to rely on a source of power independent of the public grid. Fronius inverters with a special MicroGrid setup allow for the stable operation of a microgrid system.
The beautiful residence in central Kenya consists of eight lodges, whose power supply is covered entirely by PV energy. Four Fronius Symo 20.0-3-M inverters generate an 80 kW AC-coupled PV output, with the resulting current either consumed directly or stored in a battery. In addition, the 20 kW DC-coupled system with inverter chargers and charge controllers from Victron ensures a continuous power supply for the battery and stability within the system.
Nawir Ibrahim from the Center for Alternative Technologies in Nairobi reports: “The technical support from Fronius before and during the installation of the system was excellent. The inverters are easy to install and maintain, even in field applications.”
