Twenty-five decision-makers from Austrian industrial companies visited Fronius International GmbH in Wels on April 8 to find out more about digitization in welding technology. As well as manufacturing welding systems suitable for Industry 4.0, Fronius also provides data management solutions. Anita Beck, Strategic Product Management, and Martin Kaltenbrunner, Technical Product Management, gave the participants an insight into how welding data can be used to optimize production processes. One of the solutions Fronius provides for recording and managing welding data is WeldCube. Fronius also offers the provision of data via standardized interfaces. A user management system with centralized administration options completes the range.
Hans-Jürgen Leber, Head of the Fronius Welding Business Academy, also explained how digitization can open up new possibilities for training. “Nowadays, it’s impossible for companies to avoid the rise of digitization, which is why we find events like these very important, as they provide an excellent opportunity to build up a network of contacts,” says Leber. As well as visiting Fronius, the participants of the Industry Business Safari also visited other Upper Austrian companies, taking in Trumpf, Fill, Hofer’s Alpha Retail Network, Rosenbauer, and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria on their tour.
