The German Design Award Winner 2017 is …. AccuPocket

With the AccuPocket, Fronius is relying on the concentrated power of lithium-ion technology. On top of this revolutionary new approach, the external shape of this MMA power source has also been completely redesigned. The dynamic lines and its intelligent combination of metal and plastic unite the benefits of portability, robustness and technology. For these reasons, AccuPocket was selected from more than 4,000 entries in the Workshop & Tools category to be honoured with the German Design Award for 2017.

The German Design Award is the premium international prize of the German Design Council. Its aim is to discover, present and reward unique design trends. Created as a foundation in 1953 as part of an initiative by the German government, it supports the economy by achieving consistent added brand value through the medium of design. This makes the German Design Council a world-leading centre of excellence for communication and branding in the design sector.

Every year, prizes are awarded to high-quality entries from the world of product and communication design, all of which are ground-breaking in their own way. The German Design Award was first started in 2012 and is among the most highly recognised competitions in the world. It is held in high regard far beyond professional circles alone.
